I think it’s all pretty well orchestrated. All they are doing now is waiting to see which replacement polls better, because Harris doesn’t beat Trump, sadly.

The whole thing is utterly unprecedented.
You might make the claim that the ‘Grover and the mugwumps’ situation was similar, but even then, frankly not even on the same scale. And at least in that situation the differences were legitimately political (fiat vs gold vs silver vs agrarian).
