It might not. I have two, one blunts himself perfectly, the other is pointy as F. Same scratch trees etc never tried cutting them. Best guess is the blunt one spends more time in the tile end of the house, grout.

As often as she allows - which is to say, not often. She also grows them back so fast.
She’s got two cat trees she uses but those just seem to file them sharper. I’ll see if I can find an affordable scratch pad

sharpening is exactly what she is doing, she’s removing old nail layers to reveal the new sharp ones
