How does a pampered house cat get her claws so sharp?😖 She’s tap dancing in my lap, pulling threads out of my good trackies and the skidding is dragging her claws through my flesh.
She much prefers to be grubby but I need to clean her eyes, have another wipe at the remnants of the ear drops and clip her nails.

@melbaboutown @Seagoon_ How often do you trim her nails?
A good scratching pad can help too.

As often as she allows - which is to say, not often. She also grows them back so fast.
She’s got two cat trees she uses but those just seem to file them sharper. I’ll see if I can find an affordable scratch pad

sharpening is exactly what she is doing, she’s removing old nail layers to reveal the new sharp ones
walking outside tends to dull cat claws

Ahh, no chance of that. If I let her outside she’ll pick up fresh fleas and/or abscond

It might not. I have two, one blunts himself perfectly, the other is pointy as F. Same scratch trees etc never tried cutting them. Best guess is the blunt one spends more time in the tile end of the house, grout.

@Catfish I've found the secret is to get them when they're still half asleep.
And just one paw at a time — don't think you'll get all four done in one go.
