  and it’s not instigating bigotry (you’re allowed to make your own thoughts and opinions.)

  Bigotry seems to be a core principle of modern conservatism so I’m not sure how an instance could be a right wing hellhole and not full of bigotry.

      I naively walked into Lemmy thinking it might be a friendlier respite from the echo chamber that is Reddit. I was wrong. From everything I’ve seen, it’s just a more concentrated pit, where all people want to hear are their opinions repeated, plugging their senses from anything contrary.

      I also wanted/hoped this would be a place where people wouldn’t get downvoted and cast away just for stating different opinions. Nope. It’s the same old emphasized emotional outrage, where you can’t even offer a different take without a virtual lynching.

      I don’t want to see that from the left or right. Civility would be nice for a change…
