It gave them more day light in the morning
Comment on It was a simpler time
ExperiencedWinter@lemmy.world 6 days agoI never understood this argument because farmers are the least likely job to use the clock to tell them when to work… The idea of a farmer waiting for 8am to clock in is ridiculous.

Because the hens, pigs and cows came out an hour early, right?
Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 5 days ago
I have zero clue, I guess they can feed them in day light. For fuck sakes who cares tbh.

I guess any kid in school fucking cares that their politicians set the clock after when cows want to be milked.

How does it give them more daylight? The amount of hours between sunrise and sunset is not dependent on our clocks.

I said in the morning, not total hours of daylight

It’s got nothing to do with farmers. So whether or not farmers find daylight savings useful (I think the split is roughly 50/50) is irrelevant.
Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 5 days ago
All of it is irrelevant now. Especially in CA where we voted not to have it anymore and yet they keep doing it.
echodot@feddit.uk 5 days ago
Well California is the entire planet as we all well know to I guess it’s conversation over then.

It’s nothing to do with farmers. I don’t know where people got that idea.
Farmers get up when it’s daylight and you can see, what time it is isn’t relevant. It’s not like the animals know what daylight saving is so if they don’t get fed when they expect it, they’ll kick up a fuss.
