  $3 per person for a family of 3.

  Maybe in the US, but here in Denmark, beef jerky is a specialty item and costs as much by weight as instant coffee, sometimes more!

    in the u.s. for common mass-market brands of each, that is also true. about the same price by weight.

    dehydrators are not terribly expensive, and jerky isn’t difficult to make at home.

      Nope, but that’s so far besides the point that it’s crossed the border into Germany. Who use the Euro, in case you wonder.
