Interestingly “ministery of war” used to be quite frequent names for these institutions. The “defense” euphemism only came later in many countries. Austria-Hungary had also a “Kriegsministerium” (“war ministery”). It also had a much more badass double headed eagle bolted onto the building. Well, the building still has.
I mean, I get and like the honesty. But keep in mind the administration that’s doing this; it’s different when a fascist country says “ministry of war” from when, say, a country like New Zealand or some other innocuous country like Norway or Portugal or current day Japan.
