I wonder if they get in power, the Greens could actually approach climate change correctly or if they’d be far more bark than bite. Pessimistic me doubts they’ll come anywhere close to doing enough to fight back against the worst corporate perpetrators of climate destruction, and other parties definitely won’t.
If the German Green Party is anything to go by they will be constrained by the bureaucracy of the political system and compromises with coalition partners. Like the German Greens, I would imagine that if UK Greens get anywhere near a coalition with Labour then they’d be less critical publically but push for things to be done on the ground (like more renewable projects, rewilding and projects to combat air pollution). I suspect their social policies would be less prominent and they would fall in line with coalition agreements.
I reckon they’ll not bark or bite… just gnaw a bit.
There is no UK green party. The Scottish Greens are already in a coalition government. The Green Party of England and Wales have not been in government.
Also the German Greens are basically fascists at this point so appealing to them is not likely to win many allies (that you would want).

What is the record of the Scottish Greens? Returning to u/PunkMonk@lemmygrad.ml’s point about bark or bite, what have they been like in coalition?

Unfortunately the current party seems to preoccupied with Palestine to do that
