The hippie to fascist pipeline is real. Their tendency to distrust the establishment means they also fall for typical fascists tactics where they blame the establishment and people in power for all their problems. Like in my country during Covid lockdowns these so called “spiritual” people voted for the blatantly fascist party.

That sounds plausible, but I don’t think that’s the case for my mom. I think she was just going with the trend, trying to be in the “in group”. I can say with 100% certainty a big part of her Nazi transition is the lack of empathy that she has.
