I beg to differ, by the logic used to justify the use of the f- and n- words by their respective groups, “I can say it because it was used against me.”
As a neurodivergent American child from the 90s, “that’s our word, we can say it.”

I was just trying to be silly. I don’t say it like I did when I was 16, but I’m in the same boat (queer 90s neuro xenial). Never say it maliciously, try to be conscious of today’s environment, and my kids get on my ass if I do it anyway. But the joke was supposed to be retard with a ‘hard R,’ as a play on, You know, the other one with a hard R. I know not very funny and I’m probably going to get down down voted just cuz I typed out the word but, apparently my attempt at humor needs an explanation which I suppose makes it not funny anyways. Sorry if I offended anyone in advance.
