You’d think they’d have software to manage all f this. They’d maybe check some hours but otherwise it would put it all through automatically

Highkey amused by my employer. Not the actual place I work, but the casual agency I get paid through. Seems to just be the one woman running it (so also a small local business), and she’s lovely.
I’d filled out and sent back all the onboarding docs before I started, including bank details, tfn, and super.
Well I was supposed to be paid yesterday, so I messaged her to check it was all good. She said yep. Then I get a email link (automated) from her to sign into a platform and put the same details in. So I started doing it, but it kicked me out saying the invite has expired.
She then texts me last night and says that because it’s first pay it may be delayed, should have it tomorrow (today).
I’m not upset, I’m amused lol I reckon, because it seems to just be her, she forgot to input my details manually, realised what happened, and put them in herself (hence the auto email, I reckon she signed in and added me and it sends an auto email), revoked the invite, and processed it after 5pm yesterday. I can’t stop giggling, I wonder if my partner could help her (accounting cert) hahah

small company accountants can be ridiculously ditzy. It’s hilarious

Right‽ Lol I’m not even mad, just so funny how different it is coming from ultra corpos. It must be stressful, it seems to just be a one-woman operation; like she’s doing all the comms with employees, talking to job providers and possible employers, and doing the accounting and all the back end business shit.
Kudos to her for sure, I’d have a fit if i had to do all that 😂

now I’m wondering how much your work place pays the agency.
you might be getting only 50-75% of your pay
eventually see if you can be directly paid by your work place, your pay might increase
and I am unamused, the delay is unacceptable, imagine if an employee had children to feed or life saving meds like insulin to buy that day

An agency wanted us to pay above award for a casual (absolutely no problem with that) with an extra $15+ an hour on for the agency and if we chose to keep them we have to pay them a finder’s fee. I get you’ve gotta run the agency, but that’s a steep bill for a small business!

Yeah I have a 6 month probation before the workplace will considering hiring me themselves. So I just gotta prove myself :) we’ll see if they don’t burn me though lol
Totally get your point about kids and meds; I’m in a position of privilege as I don’t have to worry about that today. It would be shitty af if I did have to consider that though for sure.
It’s a good rate, over $30 per hour so I’m not complaining :)
