Im at the point in my life where my children consume all of that. I get time after everyone in my house is asleep. Thankfully I function on 6.5 hours of sleep, so i can get some time

You can still do all the fun stuff after work. Weekends exist too you know.

If you can function adequately on 5, there is another 1.5 hours of gaming time available.
Just kidding. Get the sleep you need so your brain will function well for longer and you can get those missed hours of fun back when your kids don’t require all your attention.

I don’t know how old your kids are, but I have my 8 year old playing Final Fantasy with me, and I’m playing Minecraft Dungeons with him

Oh im totally here for all that. Id love to play more video games with my kids. Thats mostly their mom’s choice that they enroll in musical theatre/tennis/tap dance/etc. and theres minimal unstructured time
They regularly ask if they can just stay home and play Lets Go Eevee or Mario Kart with me.

Yeah my son gets one extracurricular at a time. It’s too much for kids to fill their schedules like that. They need unstructured time and boredom

You can also combine kids and fun. You just need to be a bit creative.

Who said you can’t spend a few hours gaming during weekdays. Traditionally, people have spent those hours watching low quality trash on TV. Shooting space bugs with rockets and flame throwers is a lot more fun IMO.

It’s also way better for your brain. Just don’t forget to take care of the body too.

They already said they play video games, watch cartoons, youtube, & learn useless facts in their free time.

The thing is, you can do all of that. There’s enough time for boring adult stuff and fun.
