Ha I’ve never actually looked into it, thanks. Never used H2O2 growing up but my partner did from my father in law.

Neptr@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 hours agoHydroperoxide actually worsens the healing process of cuts. Use plain water & soap, or/and some rubbing alcohol.

Send quickly cause we needed to leave 😳
My partner’s father always used hydrogen peroxide to treat fresh cuts, so when I met my partner we always used it too. Never did that before meeting them.

you have to seek antibiotics for cat scratch/bite fever.
Neptr@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 hours ago
Not saying that isn’t true, but I have never needed to do that.

My personal experience tell otherwise 🤷

Yeah nah if I’m ever bit by a cat (so that it draws blood, not just friendly nibbles) it’s straight to the hospital. Not fucking around with that shit.
JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 19 hours ago
If it’s your own cat and you do regular vet visits, it’s fine as long as you clean the cuts properly.
mirshafie@europe.pub 18 hours ago
Not sure what use vet visits are here? Why would I risk anything if my hand has been bit deep enough to draw blood, even if it’s my own cat?
JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 16 hours ago
Main threat is rabies, which your pet should not have. Unless you need stitches, a good rinse with something sterile and a bandage are all you need. That’s all a hospital is going to give you. Maybe some antibiotics if it didn’t get cleaned quickly enough.

I got scratched by a feral. Had to get a tetanus shot and five rabies shots

Better safe than sorry.
