Because most of the time, workers don’t get to choose.
Suggesting that people can quit a job at any time for moral reasons is the same shit capitalists fling around when they say that “nobody is forcing you to work”. Not wanting to go hungry and homeless are powerful motivators.
In what third-world do you reside in that quitting an evil job will get you hungry and homeless? And even if you’d be living like a slave there, there would still be another job that is NOT evil or less.
Spoken like someone who hasn’t struggled a minute of their life. Well done.
Why? You don’t have a job, you get social security. Search for a new job all in peace and quiet. If not this month, then next. Or next year. It’s most likely not awesome nor drowning you in great riches, but you won’t starve and have a home. That’s what a society is, or at least should aspire to be. Help others.
Unless, as said, some third-world without any social net, then I’m sorry man, it probably sucks and your hate is maybe best directed at those who put you in such a miserable position.
They like working for shit companies and will make any excuse not to leave. Money comes first, long live capitalism!
Not everyone has the luxury to be choosy about their employer. Did you forget we are living in late stage capitalism with an ever growing impoverishment rate?
Solidarity is the answer
The company doesn’t pull you off the street and enslave you. You chose them. You fill out the application, you take the interview, you accept the offer. You’re not stuck, you can do it again. I’ve done it several times. I recognize it’s not easy but it is doable.
But where do you draw the line? If it’s a literal orphan-crushing-company? It’s in your power to not procreate and not to work at evil companies. The consequences are sadly also yours alone, that’s right.
Most companies don’t make their harms so obvious.

Merely not participating isn’t good enough. There are way too many shortsighted people in the world, making that sort of strategy a perpetual loser. This sort of shit can only be stopped by government regulation.

Gov regulations? You mean the gov (whichever country) that works for the capital and not the worker-ants? You mean this one? While you’re not technically wrong, the shortsightedness is also on your side my friend.
So, in the meantime, it’s up to everyone. Working there and waiting for the gov to same me…not happening.
