    Given the quote you were responding to, I totally expected this kind of spike (although in a quick skim I didn’t actually see him using it on a tomato like he usually does)

  I’m not a huge fan of tomatoes in isolation, but there are a lot of very popular foods that incorporate tomato. Hamburgers have tomato. Chili has tomato sauce. Pizza has tomato sauce. Pico de gallo—what most people in the US refer to when they say “salsa”—has tomato.
