Why keep making ‘fallout’. Its done.
I can see value in a Fallout 4 set a couple hundred years after Fallout 3. Fallout 4’s civilization is still too broken. Add a few hundred years, and you could get an established civilization out of it, like the NCR of NV.

Well, maybe not now, considering how corporate it’s become. But in the period of 2010 and 2015, you could make a decent sequel. The 23rd century era of Fallout is pretty much creatively bankrupt, but Fallout in the 25th century is workable. What Fallout is missing is the rebuilding of society. The NCR side of things in NV comes close, but it’s clear they still have a ways to go to achieve pre-War levels of society. Where’s the NCR variant of Nuka Cola, for instance? Or industry for making all those bullets the NCR uses (Pitt doesn’t count)? Or the logistics for large scale transport, like trains?

Oh my god just make a new fucking game dude. You can make new IP. I fucking promise. Those questions were adequately explored in fucking fallout 2 and nv. That’s not interesting for a fucking game.

Funnily enough, that was one of the major complaints fans made about Fallout 3. For some unfathomable reason Bethesda decided to set it generations after the first two games, yet the Wasteland hasn’t changed at all despite it now being centuries since the bombs fell.
Come to think of it, they did the exact same thing with Skyrim.

To be fair though, it’s only been within the past two hundred years that we’ve seen progress like this. Before that, there really were generations between significant advances.

While I would argue that that’s untrue - societies have had huge shifts over for atleast 4000 years - we’re not neccesarily talking about big societal changes here.
The people in Fallout 4 STILL live in completely wrecked houses. Holes in the ceiling, shattered windows, debris on the floor. Are you telling me no one has cleaned up here in over 200 years?
