conservative are christian democrats (in the US a close equivalent would be Rockefeller Reps, Ă la Charlie Baker. Those are the real Reps.
a conservative is interested in keeping things as is, stable, favouring democracy (even if imperfect).
a fascist opposes both; they above all break down labour rights and align with the reactionary, irresponsible bourgeoise, rather than the proletariat whose labour they employ. Fascism favours militarism to enforce their will, rather than building bridges through dialogue.

This has never been the case. People calling themselves conservatives have always been all about tearing down existing systems in order to magically replace them with a fever dream about how it was âin the good old daysâ. Conservatism has always been a destructive and dangerous ideology.
Regressive militaristic enforcement of hierarchy and in/out groups is absolutely âconservatismâ at its core.
Some âconservativesâ may not agree with every single point but the ideology remains the same.
Nah, man. Conservatives are the basic irritation of an old man like myself not wanting to change, because itâs fine. I finally understand the world and then these transes come along and want me to change the way I talk? Canât they just pick a lane? Booo!
(I try not to listen to that urge in me, btw, and as a result I have accepted my bisexual self, got a cool trans-masc boyfriend at age 46 after a 20 year drought, had some seriously good sex, and gained a lot of fun new ideas. I understand conservatism, and I can respect it in some contexts, but I prefer progress.)
Reactionaries, though, they are spoiled brats. Instead of just refusing to change, they actively try to destroy what they fear. They try to control other people because they cannot accept that anyone else has rights. They are sociopaths, and they control the USA.
They call themselves conservatives, and they hide amomgst conservatives, but they are different.

Yeah, people always confuse reactionaries with conservatives. They are different philosophies entirely.

The dems in America are a lot closer to what conservatism classically is than republicans have been in over 50 years.

ike was the last of his kind. the civil rights acts of the 1960s broke the republican party⌠voter rights, desegregation⌠they could not (and still cannot) handle those people being equal. the âmodernâ republican party is defined by their hatred.
