  That sounds insane, but I guess the average is dragged out by prepubescent children and very old people.

  It has to be more frequent for sexually active adults

    You’re forgetting the large percentage of adults with children. That will also dampen sex frequency.

    It looks like the study they referenced polled people aged 14-69(nice), but they also slip those demographics into different age brackets to get a more accurate count.

    That study included people age 18 and up with no upper limit and 30% of the participants were over 60. Not saying this is an invalid study, but there are a few caveats to the conclusion.

      I believe in studies it’s been about once a month for women and once a week for men as the average.

      The original comment had no qualifiers about age.

        Yeah it’s just the broad statement that I object to. I don’t think this study qualifies for such a broad interpretation of the data.

  Studies of who? The entire human race, the Amish, people in monasteries? Without a specific age and societal class in there, such a statement might as well be made up.
