If the remaining 58% turn out to vote, then binny has a chance
Comment on British public more likely to prefer Count Binface wins Clacton by-election than Nigel Farage
UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 17 hours agoIt’s England, it’s a historically Tory district, and they already elected him once with 42% of the vote. So, safe bet that it does - in fact - have a bunch of reactionary racists with no sense of humor turning out to the polls.
Farage is also larded up with money from his billionaire friends and positioning himself to be the next PM of the country. When it comes to GOTV, I think he’s got the edge over a D-list internet celebrity who regularly gets confused with a nearly identical D-list internet celebrity running on the same joke.
In what is shaping up to be a Reform UK wave election year, I regret to say the funny outcome isn’t where the smart money is at. The only real question is whether Farage wins handily in a landslide while doing the Big Racism from every major news outlet or squeaks in on a marginal victory after having to actually perform a few weeks of retail politics in his district.

I was recently informed that they are one and the same. If you’ll look at the Count Binface WP article you linked to, you’ll see that it’s the same guy who changed things slightly over an intellectual property dispute.
