  SM reflects Christianity? Maybe for some I guess but I’m sure people from all religious backgrounds and none enjoy S&M.

    Sure, this is a gross oversimplification, and SM is very wide; but the impact of two thousand years of Christianity really is very significant to the western psyche, even among the non-christian.

    Things like being bad and deserving punishment or suffering leading to ascension are so close to christian concepts (sinning and hell, the passion of Christ) that it would be surprising for them not to be connected.

  In some ways yes, in other ways you’re way off.

  D/s reflects general power dynamics. Straight couples with dominant men often use the existing gender relations for it. And dominant straight women often invert it. But plenty of other power dynamics are used here, such as elder/younger, noble/servant, boss/employee, military, teacher/student, owner/pet, etc. Hell a lot of power exchange organizations are still moving away from master/slave terminology.

  And sadomasochism seems deeper in the human psyche than Christianity. Yeah Christianity really encourages it, but it seems to be more like runners high and the appreciation of horror movies than just some reflection of Christianity.

  Both D/s and sm are very broad categories whereas findom and race play are both categories of D/s

    I keep on ending up like this unironically when the relationship starts off closer to 50/50 slowly 60/40 70/30 then they lose their job then its 100/0 forever even when they gain their job back.

      This is not financial advice, but I think if you are stressing your bond allocation too much; you may be missing out on compounding growth. A targeted date fund is perfectly acceptable, so much so that it is a standard in most investment portfolios and even the default, daddy.

        Its hard, the mask slips so much further along and I ignore the signs so hard (this is why they say love is blind) but im working on it with my therapy so I have hope.

        I wish I could just be a “dont take my generosity for weakness” types but Im not 🫠

        Idk what you call it but they get SOO pissed when you ask them to do anything, I asked them to help out more when I was paying for everything that theyre “a slave” bitch all I asked was for you to cook as I was busy after work
