Comment on How can maladaptive daydreamers possibly enjoy movies if they daydream and can't focus on the movie?

The movies/shows I enjoy either forcibly grab my attention or they inspire interesting daydreams. Like a “what if they went through that other door instead?” kind of thing.

How about “slow” films?
For example
The Brutalist
Killers Of The Flower Moon
Gone With The Wind
The Souvenier
Ect ect
Films that really only Film lovers like the general audience may not be interested

Yeah, but I’ll agree that TODAY’S general audience is not that interested.

Another thing is that whats popular now is much more split up than it used to be.

“Slow” is fine as long as the story’s decent and/or it’s visually interesting. Haven’t seen any of the movies you mentioned, but stuff like the original “Solaris” or “Fantastic Planet” work for me.

You don’t have to force yourself to watch movies you don’t enjoy because all the cool kids do it.
That being said, lots of those types of movies have tons of things to pay attention to in terms of direction, acting, set, framing, all the technical actions like panning, zoom, tracking. If you learn that “language” then there’s a ton of interesting things in any given scene. Do you enjoy that sort of thing?
