His name is 5 letters long and is right there in the post title and you still can’t get it right. Reminds me of Fox News hosts intentionally stumbling over and mispronouncing “Mamdani”.
Comment on Hasan Piker, Cenk Uygur Denied Entry to UK Over Palestine Support
Fizz@lemmy.nz 8 hours ago
Hassan and Cenk do paid agitprop for the UK’s adversaries. Why should any country let them come over and tour around the country undermining the government and bolstering conspiracy and driving extremists on both sides. Bet there here to do their favourite thing, undermine a liberal left government so the far right can win.

That’s just absurd.
infinitesunrise@slrpnk.net 2 hours ago
Intentionally so? Yes, if you’re being intentionally disrespectful about a black person’s identity that does put you under scrutiny of being anti-black. Is this is a difficult concept for you?

How are you certain of OP’s deliberately misspelling the name, though?

You’re playing with a false symmetry.

they’re* When you make dumb mistakes on something so easy it makes you look like you’re not well read. If your inane take wasn’t enough, that definitely gives it away.

The UK is not under a liberal left government, and if you think Labor is even close to not being far right you’re actually deluded.
bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 3 hours ago
it can’t be far right because it has labour on his name 🤓
Enkrod@feddit.org 7 hours ago
“Labour is far right”, you heard it here first folks.
Sure, they’re not left enough by any definition, but far right and not even close to not being far right?

What does the following fall under? As a fun game I’ve included three quotes or headlines regarding Nigel Farage, and six regarding Starmer or the labor government. I can guarantee you will not be able to pick out the Farage ones (I have paraphrased to make googling them and cheating that way difficult.
Answered Yes under oath when asked whether he knew his staffer continued a long-term relationship with Jeffery Epstein after Epstein’s 2008 conviction.
According to an FIDH report they have repeatedly lobbied for legislation and policy that directly supports and upholds the Israeli genocidal state, even when said policies would directly harm the UK and its citizens.
His attacks on Palestinian protestors — and protestors in general have been called a driving voice behind the single greatest regression in democracy in the UK since the Thatcher government.
He has stated Israel “has the right” to withhold, as well as disable all domestic sources of, power and water for Gaza.
He has “transformed the labour party to a place where Jews are welcome again” – t(his one is easy, just hilariously direct.)
During his campaigning he has directly called into question the nationalization of the NHS and has argued limited to full privatization would directly benefit UK citizens.
During his campaign and through his time as a politician, he has directly and consistently worked against the Trans agenda, even when it was unpopular to do so.
His advisors have been anonymously quoted as saying “he does not believe trans women are women” and has publicly stated there was a ‘desperate need’ for trans people to identify themselves in public spaces as trans.
He has been quoted multiple times as saying the UK’s “Open Border’s” Policy needs to be ended and that it should not be so easy for “asylum seekers” to be granted asylum.
And here’s one more for free:
He has stated the “Open Borders” Policy from previous governments has been a squalid chapter in British history and has left “stains” on the “british way of life.” In the same vein, he has rallied against “immigrant rape gangs” using “legal loopholes” to come into the country.
spoiler
Not a single one was about Farage.

On migration and trans rights they’re cleaving pretty right wing.
On economics, they’re still quite centre-left-ish.
And since everything is polarised these days, they get to be centre-left to the right, and moderate right to the left.
makingrain@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
Right wing on migration? Don’t make us laugh.

it literally is lol
