Or the European TARGET system. Already in place, and works like a charm.
Comment on What's it going to take to truly stop the US?
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 3 days ago
World leaders should:
- Sell all US treasuries and buy gold instead
- Stop using the Dollar to trade with countries not involving America, use Euro, Yuan or gold instead
- Kick America from the SWIFT system or use an alternative system like China’s CIPS
- Stop using US tech like Google, Mera reddit, X etc
- Stop buying weapons from America
- Sanction America, just like they sanctioned Russia.
China and Russia are already doing most of these. So they’re not afraid to raise their voice against America.
Japan and UK (both struggling economies) hold the highest amount of US debt. Third is China which is steadily selling.

SWIFT is also european.
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Russia was banned from SWIFT but Israel wasn’t so I don’t trust it. We need something without American influence.
zaphod@sopuli.xyz 3 days ago
You think Israel has no influence in Europe? TARGET or SWIFT doesn’t make a difference.
drmoose@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Lmao give China more power
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 2 days ago
European capitalists already did by moving all factories to China.
Every country in the world already trades with China, it’s impossible not to. So why not use their currency?
drmoose@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Why use authoritarian currency?
edible_funk@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Like USD?
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Why use authoritarian currency indeed.
Why do Europe and America trade so much with the authoritarian regime?
Don’t say the people are good but you have a problem with the regime. It’s the regime that developed China in the past 39 years.

Right! I’m shocked anyone would want that. I just told someone else it’s like leaving an abusive partner for an even more abusive partner. I’ve noticed countries being pushed towards China after the US went even more crazy after Trump winning. I believe they are making a mistake. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan could fulfill most of the same needs as China does and do so better. Just as a random example Japanese capacitors are known for their high quality. Japan and China both supply capacitors. Why not bolster Japan’s instead of China’s?
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Japan and Korea are small over worked nations I don’t think they’ll be able to handle so much demand.
r0ertel@lemmy.world 2 days ago
You forgot about all intra-continental internet cables going through US routers and oil being traded in USD.
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 2 days ago
I mentioned oil. Stop doing ALL trades in USD. Use Euro, Yuan or gold.
The cables tho, we’ll have to build new ones, something no single country can control.

Pretty sure this is what the techno-garchs want.

Giving all power to China, would corrupt it almost instantly, and turn it into USA V2. I don’t recommend leaving all power in one country, if you want prosperity.
bobo@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
China is already extremely corrupt, they’re simply using militarised corruption instead of a military to exploit developing countries.
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 3 days ago
China built infrastructure in Venezuela and paid for their oil. The US kidnapped their leader and claimed all of Venezuela’s oil.
I think I prefer one over the other.
bobo@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
Sure, they built a shit load of infrastructure here as well. For example we had the most expensive highway built by Chinese prisoners, and paid for by Chinese loans. It not only started to show wear less then a year in, but there are sections that are literally expected to collapse.
We had the most expensive reconstruction done by Chinese workers, the ceiling collapsed and killed a bunch of people.
And so on, etc…
Now they’re in talks to turn over every remaining national resource to them, to cover a part of the great work they’ve done so far, while Chinese companies are literally releasing unprocessed toxic waste into rivers.
It’s nice to have a preference in the taste of the boot standing on your face…

I think this is the first time I’ve seen someone from Lemmy.ml admit something negative about China.
To me it seems that the US, China, and Russia are all behaving imperialistically, which is pretty worrying.
edible_funk@lemmy.world 2 days ago
It’ll be the first world war that isn’t just an overblown family dispute.
BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
“when you think about it, China trading with other countries is just as bad as us carpet bombing them”
bobo@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
Yeah it’s great we built the most expensive highway in the world using Chinese prison labour, on Chinese loans, and it’s falling apart less then a year in. It’s perfectly fine that there are a 1000 different schemes draining the budget and literally killing people with tofu dreg construction. I guess we should feel lucky Chinese companies will take over national parks, waterways, and exploit every single resource until there’s only a toxic wasteland left…
BoJackHorseman@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Just like power has corrupted America, Britain and other European nations in the past.
That’s why we’re going for a multi-polar world this time. No country’s currency will be the reserve currency. We can use Gold or bitcoin instead.
I don’t want to give all power to China.
