Personally (and YMMV - I am a short arse) I would pick an aisle seat even if there’s others in the row. Middle sucks on long haul. Aisle means you can put your feet out a bit and get up and stretch anytime. Seats can fill up and change at the last minute. And if there are empty seats near you you can move. Just wait until after take off and give a nod to the flight staff to check it’s ok

I love the window because I love looking out but aisle is good too . Behind the middle door or bulkhead is good for extra space.
my fave of course is upstairs on the airbus 380 , but that is pricy
I just like flying, big plane, tiny plane, it’s all fun 😊 ( unless next to crying baby or Sir Less Patterson )

As much as the window seat is nice, the aisle is more practical because going to the loo.
