  It’s a roll of cap gun ammo for the little cap guns they’d often sell at carnivals when I was a kid. They have a very distinct smell

    I didn’t have the tape, but instead had the plastic rings that had a tiny bit of powder in it. I wonder if they had similar smells.

      I had those too, same smell. I remember those and the little paper covered bang snaps you’d toss at the ground and feel like an anarchist for a second
