      It’s the nationalism. Nationalism is a form of cognitive fencing. If you place it down, it can stop your cognition. People use it to get other people to close out their morality all throughout history, most prominently in soldiers, but all across societies. Causes lots of dumb and stagnation. I hypothesize it has similar effects as alcohol on the human mind, and if used habitually, can shut down portions of the brain.

      If you existed in the West through 9/11 and the wars and somehow did not find out what these guys did (at even just a basic level), you were either a child or living under a rock.
