  Just got back from my beach walk. The bay resembled the Yarra for first the 100m or so from the shore.

    the water made little waves coming up on the shore, the water is normally so quiet and gentle that the sound of the waves was very welcome and calming

    and the water is always very sandy at high tide, a lot of churn and most shells are buried by the time it’s slack tide

    so one becomes expert at recognising shells from the bits that stick out the sand

    wind turned, the small fishing boats were racing back in and the seagulls went into the park, storm coming, I hied home
