This is an interesting line of thinking. I was told as a child that if I go out in the cold, I will get a cold. Have since heard it’s a myth. Is it more the symptoms that come from cold exposure, like a “headcold” or the virus itself?

Maybe when you’re cold your immune system is a little less robust? Then again I was at the gym yesterday and those places are Petri dish of illnesses sometimes lol

Reduced immune system response if you get chilled I reckon. Also airborne viruses survive much longer in the cold due to a fatty outer layer that evaporates in hot weather and sunshine. Also UV kills viruses and there’s less of that in cold weather.

I think it’s exposure to cold can make us run down and more suspectable, if we are already fighting cold viruses we might succumb
