You’re basically correct, in this case. I’ve chosen my official “side” as that of humanity. I’m not fully certain what that means other than I feel for the protestors/people of both sides and don’t want bad things to happen to either. The governments directly involved here, such as they are, are in the business of revenge and power. The people in general are being played by their governments, pawns to be sacrificed or otherwise used to further the purpose.

I’m just gonna comment real quick that i do care, but i also find it difficult to “pick a side”. I can’t imagine what life is like for any of the Israelis/Palestinians.

Both sides are responsible for atrocities. One side suffers disproportionately because the other side imposes collective punishment.

The case is not so complicated. There is one criminal and one victim. Look for the source of the problem. Take a look at history, after the second world war.

There is no reason to “pick a side”. Situations like this aren’t usually black and white.

But what does an end to all of this actually look like? I still remember when Rabin and Arrafat were awarded Nobel peace prizes because they thought Bill Clinton solved peace in the Middle East.
Can there be peace? Or just this eternal back and forth bullshit?

The whole thing is a horrible mix of religious, historical, political and economical interlocking conflicts. Can there be peace? I have no idea.

Oh but we can definitely sketch something, for sure.

Is it really about the holy lands? Or mostly about land and resources?

@Snorf we would be a lot closer to peace if we could get rid of the arms dealers.

There can be peace only if everyone accepts that everyone else wants to live their life, too. That’s nowhere to be seen, in the greater region of the Middle East.
