ebolapie@lemmy.world 6 days agoAs some who has eaten like that before, I can speak for myself a little bit. Food is fuel and construction material. I need the nutrition to operate my body. Nothing more. The less I think about what it tastes like the more I can think about it as numbers on a spreadsheet.
That being said if I were OP I’d invest in a slow cooker and yes, some paprika. Maybe some dehydrated garlic.

I live in the netherlands rn and basically at some point in history there was a guy called Calvin who convinced almost everybody to see food this way. To this day traditional dutch food is the blandest, saddest assortment of dishes imaginable. Thank god for immigrants bringing in some flavour.
Just smear some herring on it
