No idea. Maybe he’s just used to doing it with his own car (which is much older, presumably like my old car - has no auto lights and lights don’t switch off when the ignition is off). But really, bad design to begin with. Just have an auto lights option, Subaru!

In my subaru the lights went off with the car. In my toyota the lights stay on.

My old work Ranger would have light stay on, my current Toyota they turn off. I prefer the off option.
