I understand the appeal of a children’s fantasy set in a wizard world, but until it’s financially detached from Rowling, it’ll continue to fund her hatred.

irish_link@lemmy.world 2 days agoI may be missing something, why? Is it because the story came from JKR or is there another reason? I can’t say for sure but I am guessing the cast and crew don’t think the same way she does.

Thanks for the clarification.
I didn’t realize JKR was going to get such a big cut from this. I thought since WB already had the rights there wasn’t much more money going to the pockets of hate.

Even if she only gets £1 that is too much. It may encourage more of the IP to be made, which in turn may increase sales of other aspects, all of which fillers money into her pockets.
