kmart have little LED globes for 2 bucks, Runs off AA batteries. Get some rechargeable batteries and you are laughing. Ikea ones are pretty cheap and great.

Power is back on? Yes! What a relief.
I wish I had the energy to sort out more battery powered stuff and physical media for these times just to take the edge off. Itâs never hugely long but it really gets to me.
I still havenât fixed the solar panel/car battery combo and at this point itâs unlikely Iâll be able to sort it out >.<

Rechargeable battery packs have been a godsend for me.
If I know ahead of time Iâll get everything ready.
I have a dolphin light which is pretty powerful and bright just incase as well if youâre candle adverse.

I have candles but am very wary of open flames. Even with safeguards I donât trust them an inch

If you want to go down the battery path these basic lanterns are great. They run on 4xAAA batteries, last for ages, and give lots of light.
