She never fed Wellington to the kids.

So does anyone else think that the leftovers that the kids ate was actually the leftover beef, not the beef wellingtons. They talk about meat, potato and beans, nothing about pastry. I know the mushrooms were “scrapped off”, but I reckon they just ate beef, not beef prepared as wellingtons.

Yeah, but it was phrased as the kids ate “the leftovers, but she’d scraped the mushrooms off”, so it sounded like the leftover wellingtons, hence why the medical staff were scared for the kids. But what the kids are saying sounds like it was just beef.

Ooh what was said?

At some point in the past the mother went on a trip to the botanical gardens or something like that and took photos of mushrooms because she liked them.
She also drove one her kids an hour somewhere the day after despite saying she was feeling unwell to an instrumental lesson I think.

The lies are lying. So much isn’t adding up.

I’m trying to work out what the motive was. Assuming it wasn’t accidental which it possibly wasn’t. What did she think she was going to achieve?
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
the local rumour is that the inlaws were nasty religious extremists
so maybe get them out of her life or stop their influence
still not the answer, she could have just taken her kids and left
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Oh damn, that changes things. I did wonder why she kept in such close touch with her ex (?) husband and in-laws if they were separated but maybe there was an element of control that I didn’t know about. Perhaps they threatened to go to court pursuing grandparents rights if she left and she tried to take out as many family members as possible to avoid them acting as flying monkeys.
I’ve now seen there was tension and ‘dad doing things to hurt mum’ but the article is paywalled.

To me that was language of a kid repeating what his mum had said, especially when it involved school (bills and reports). Though it’s also interesting that the “day of the lunch”, the dad dropped the son home but the daughter stuck with him until the evening. Though Erin did say that she felt the father favoured the daughter.

That’s so interesting!! It sounds like all her connections with the family had taken a nosedive in the year or so leading up, but it could have been her pulling away.
