Ernie was gay?
They actually were a gay couple according to one of the show’s writers.
To be clear, they were written from the perspective of gay man, with their interactions modelled after his experiences, but they are not canonically “gay” (they have no sexual orientation).
They both have a big hairy hand in their bottoms tho!
