MeanElevator@aussie.zone 1 week agoHad Lent forced upon me until 15-16 by parents. Heavy guilt trips and Catholic doom always hanging over my head through out my formative years took a long time to undo. Ain’t going through this shit again, even voluntarily.
I’ll always support people who try it, as long as it’s guilt free and for a good cause.

Oh I get it, I just have some deep bad memories of ‘Lent’ as a kid and all thing associated with it. So many years on and still trying to completely sever the connection.

That’s terrible.
My husband fasted until he was about 14. Then he discovered bacon, hotdogs and weed. It was all over but he continued pretending to fast up until he was an adult.

Good approach by him. My mum found out I smoked cigs like a week before my wedding. She was shocked. My dad was laughing cause he knew I was hiding it from them.
