TL;Dr: when some company does something shitty, instead of just fleeing to the next big company and hoping that they will not do the same and blaming everyone who is still using their stuff of the old company, you need to actually fight back against the company doing it. Privacy oriented people are few and far beetween, so the „Voting with you wallet” thing will not even make a .01 mark on their revenue

Spoiler alert, it didn’t. There’s many ways to publish malware on any official store. Not straightforward, but always possible.
