Just think of the money you will have wasted if you ruin your new engine straight away. Patience is required.

Keep dreaming about cars the last couple of nights, so I googled if you still gotta “run in” a new one. “1000 miles, vary the RPM but keep it under 4k, and for christs sake stay off the boost”. Well. Fuck me. Reckon i can pay extra and get the dealership to do that for me? There is no way in hell I’d be able to drive off the lot and not light up the turbo, only been dreaming about this (so far) for 15 bloody years! And before you say “but TinyBreak, just drive up and back to Sydney”. they specifically say no long highway drives. So you gotta take it up the hills and NOT play with it. I may need to recruit the mrs, though not entirely sure she’d behave herself either.

Its (or it will be) a subaru. Its preruined in the factory 🙃

I wonder if you could run it in on a dyno.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone 1 week ago
Dunno. Good thought but i imagine it’d be expensive to have it running for 1000 miles on a dyno. Boring as shit if you gotta very the throttle all the time.

Ideally have the dyno in charge of the throttle and just have the whole thing automated.

Go up the Black Spur and back, it’s a fantastic drive! It’s hard not to take the corners like a demon tho 😭

I mean, great idea in concept. But the temptation to slip back to 3rd and boost round the corners would be like the equivalent of teenager his first girly mag. Have 0 faith in myself not to go full rallyfuckboi.
