  What I usually get is someone posting a question in the forum and someone else will post a link with the supposed solution only for that link to be down, or the forum moderator will lock the thread and tell OP to “use the search”

  You really don’t need to use the terminal if you don’t want to. The only reason so many people use it is because it’s usually the most efficient way to get stuff done, and it’s easier to show a terminal command than it is to show how to do something on each and every desktop since they all vary slightly.

  When it comes to installing apps, Linux is actually not that different from how you install them on your phone. Most distros will have some kind of software center that you can use to install apps. Check here first before searching online. Most apps are NOT downloaded using your web browser.

  Stick with a distro that’s been around forever. Newer distros have a lot of buzz, but they lack support and you’ll eventually come across a problem that you won’t know how to solve.

  I remember Google saying like 2 decades ago that it was actually their goal to get you off of their website as quickly as possible. If you clicked on a link, and then clicked back in less than 30 seconds, then Google would consider that search result to be not what you were looking for.

  Find the tag and place it in the bottom right corner, and make sure that it’s at the bottom of the sheet. Once the tag is in the correct location, the other corners will be easy peasy.

  And a lot less people posting “what’s something that used to be cool, but isn’t now?” posts every single day. It’s gotten to the point where I can usually guess what the top answer will be.

  Only a matter of time before the economy collapses because all these companies replace their workers with AI, only to find that no one can buy their services because everyone is out of a job.

  Crothal took over the housekeeping department in the hospital that I work at. The difference in how clean the place was before and after they took over is night and day, and not in a good way.

  I say folder when I’m in the GUI file manager, and I say directory when I’m in the terminal.
