One way ticket to Flavor Town.
- Comment on What’s a movie nobody can convince you is good? 2 weeks ago:
I couldn’t get into any of the LOTR movies. I like fantasy, I like adventure, I like fighting, but those films are boring as hell to me.
- Comment on Google’s Sergey Brin Says Engineers Should Work 60-Hour Weeks in Office to Build AI That Could Replace Them 4 weeks ago:
My CEO is starting to get ideas. I work at a startup, and recently they have been floating 60-80 hour work weeks. So far it has been an idle threat and is really just their hail Mary play, but big players doing this shit is really worrying as far as normalizing it.
I’m more productive than ever, and the punishment seems to be piling on even more work in order to chase those short term profits.

- Comment on The new Hulu Subscriber agreement just dropped - Don't like ads too bad. 1 month ago:
Hulu was my Netflix alternative. If they start showing me ads I’m done with them too. Hopefully this was added for live events, sports, etc, but I don’t know if they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

It’s usually there so people seek out the only fans / subscription content. Additionally for general exposure (ha!), likes and followers.

I feel like it would be more like “error at 1:1”. That or the more sinister error on line 90 when there aren’t that many lines

- Comment on I am in the US and its gotten very political but as pretty much a peon do I just tune the stuff out thinking its fear mongering? Or should I closely pay attention to it? 2 months ago:
The peons will be some of the most impacted, so it is good to stay in the loop. I wouldn’t obsess over what is going on, but a weekly digest of news is helpful.

Breitbart is highly biased and is trying to politicize this fire.
Singh said DOD resources work best when there is a plan in place to make sure they are used the most efficiently.
“You just don’t want to surge a bunch of capability and resources into a region without a full plan,” she said. “So that’s what we’re doing, and we’re working very closely with the state to make sure that we’re getting their needs met.”

- Comment on is feeling disrespected reason good enough to change jobs? 2 months ago:
Personally I’d find another job first. Once that is secure I’d plan my exit.
If your company does exit interviews I’d be frank and honest about your reasons for leaving. Consider having a quick outline prepared of what you want to tell them. I don’t burn bridges on my way out when possible, but if you can articulate your problems well it might help the next person.

- Comment on This is in a small convenience store where you can buy food things and heat them up while in the store 2 months ago:
A person was probably heating up some pee on the way to cheat a drug test. They have little thermometer strips on the side, like what you see on a fish tank, to help verify the sample wasn’t brought in or tampered with.
- Comment on Can IMAX Preserve and Revive the Film Industry? - Y.M.Cinema Magazine 2 months ago:
They seemed to get a bump from Barbie and Oppenheimer. Both were semi original and people wanted to go see them to be part of the phenomenon.
I bought my wife a movie gift card this year as part of her birthday gift. We keep looking at the movie listings wanting to spend it, but there is nothing coming out that is worth the $30+ experience.

GFCI outlets aren’t too expensive. If you own the place you should fix that. If you rent the place you should complain lol.

I love that this dumb dumb made a post on reddit. There are search engines, large language models, and the good ole thesaurus to find words that are synonyms. Figure. It. Out.
