I’ve seen this a dozen times. What’s always striking to me is that personally, I feel I’ve lost the capability to talk to strangers in public like that. Could be the young age of the group, they’re just more outgoing, or maybe they’ve had a few to drink. Could be the novelty of their video camera. But possibly it could be a broader cultural shift from then to now. I’m sure there evidence out there for the latter, because I certainly don’t see many people interacting this way anymore. Nowadays, I’d feel like I was bothering people just trying to do their jobs and get through the day.

How old is the joke about crying in the shower before work? Was it a more popular thing to do then than now? Do we have more to cry about now, but cry less often because we’re numb? What about people with bathtubs but no showers? Why am I crying? Why is Jamie crying?
