- Comment on Take-Two CEO Says We'll All Be Streaming Our Games In 3 Years 1 week ago:
That’s mainly because upload speed is capped much lower than download speed. That’s reversed if you’re streaming from a service though. Still a shit idea either way, hell the streaming services of several years went under in what a year or two.
- Comment on This is what happens when Billionaires own the news media. 1 week ago:
Does it benefit the rest of us? Sure in some way it probably does. Could those billions of dollars benefit us much, much more if use in other ways? Absolutely.
- Comment on what the fuck is that allowed??? 1 week ago:
That and they’d probably slash it open trying.
- Comment on Are there any technology-oriented content creators that are still good? 1 week ago:
AlphaPhoenix is the only one I’m familiar with there. But he really does so wild stuff.
I also enjoy Applied Science for some really technical stuff.

That’s why I just eat off my shirt. Already have to was it so 2 for 1. And I don’t have to worry about something falling on my shirt, it’s great peace of mind.

- Comment on Correlation == Causation? 2 weeks ago:
The question is does it differentiate between “eyes hurt” and just watches that contain those two words. Like if someone asked “How can I look at the eclipse and not hurt my eyes” would it show up in this bucket too.

Still in use. Cassette player is in storage, dry rotted belts that I need to replace. Need some better speakers as well, the shelf speakers I have are pretty garbage but my office space is limited. Image

I’m not seeing it in the instance block list.

You can still pull it down. I did it just 10 minutes ago.
- Comment on Teserract may be opensource, but adding myself would feel disingenuous 3 weeks ago:
Lemmy Frontend / UI that instances can use instead of the default. They had a secret shadow ban / block list for keyword, users, communities, instances that were not accessible via the admin UI and only pulled down at runtime so you could not see them in the source code before using it and could not modify it because no one knew about it.

- Comment on Where has the "www." gone? 4 weeks ago:
It was only necessary if the site was configured that way which most typically were. This was to differentiate which server would handle the request, web, file, mail, etc. I’m pretty sure there was no RFC that stated it was a requirement. Even on the early web it wasn’t uncommon to see a www2 or some other numbered prefix for different versions of a site. The reason you see it less now is because like you said browsers will add it, but also because most sites no longer use it as web is typically the assumed default.
- Comment on Where has the "www." gone? 4 weeks ago:
Those are schemes and they are not new, there are many others as well. Some you may see in a browser are http, mailto, file. Others that you won’t typically see in browsers include ldap(s), imap, jdbc, odbc, etc. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_URI_schemes

- Comment on magic 1 month ago:
Yeah, I’ve looked at those. I worry about sizing though because I’d have to order online and at the time I think they only shipped from the UK so if they didn’t fit returning would be a PITA.

I had some Docs split between lower and mid sole after light wear. I guess there was a reason they got rid of their lifetime warranty.

I was just amused that the S-10, which hasn’t been sold in the US in like 20+ years, was on the list.
