We seem to have followed a similar path, but I am quite satisfied. I do have a family though, so maybe that’s what does it….
It sucked making sacrifices in my 20’s, but looking at where I landed, I would not change it if I could. Would you?
Don’t get me wrong; We are nowhere close to rich, but we managed to buy a decent house and not having to wory about the price of groceries and the bills every month, and that’s all we really need.
Early 30’s for reference.

Yeah I was wondering why Minnesota was suddenly a coastal state (enourmous lakes excluded obviously)

Right, but there’s nothing immoral about it either.
I live in a place where the rich pay their fair dues to the benefit of the less fortunate. That’s where I think you need to focus on getting, not slandering every successful company out of envy.
Thanks for the chat. You were nothing but respectful. Have a great weekend.

Sure, then «attack» the politicians allowing this to happen.
Up corporate tax and income tax for the wealthy.
Don’t attack the companies that play by the rules.

Then what is the point?
Why are they not allowed to create a good service and profit?
Why are the competition unable to take marketshare with lower fees?It feels as if you have this number, >billion, makes a company evil. Why?
I agree with you that no single person needs a billion, but having earned it doesn’t make them bad. They innovate and move everything forwards. I’d much rather see my money with Valve than with EA, Activision Blizzard or any of the other faceless giants out there.
- Comment on Are cars with AWD worth it compared to FWD. 5 months ago:
I live in Norway and made it around with FWD/RWD on all my cars, untill recently. Moved to a house at the bottom of a steep hill and got an AWD.
So while I am saying that you probably don’t need it, I am never going back after having had it for two winters. It’s just so superior once snow turns up.
- Comment on What are you playing this week? May 20 2024 Edition 6 months ago:
Hollow Knight on Switch and Valheim on PC.
Maybe the GoW expansion if I find time, but I doubt it. Diaper changes sre for some reason more important

That’s a big nope from me too

I swear I’m not a besserwisser but I recently learned something I found annoyingly interesting and I’m sharing it hoping you will too:
Panthers aren’t a species but usually either a jaguar or leopard if black or a collective name for all large cats belonging to the Pantera family.

Hah yes, but now there are apps for that too so the camera is even less in use.
I honestly think it’s mostly in use when I want to sell something online…
- Comment on Price of electricity in Finland peaks at 2.35€/kWh today. Keeping my tiny granny cottage warm costs me over 50 euros for a single day. It's negative 25C (77F) outside. 11 months ago:
I must make a small correction though: The last night with -30 it struggled a bit. Only managed to keep the upper floor at 19 °C so we had to turn on the cables to get over the peak.
I’m still mightily impressed by it though!
Max consumption was 32 kW/day, so roughly 4-5 € pr/day with our prices. - Comment on Price of electricity in Finland peaks at 2.35€/kWh today. Keeping my tiny granny cottage warm costs me over 50 euros for a single day. It's negative 25C (77F) outside. 11 months ago:
Newer models are actually.
We had negative 30 C the last two days and our air-to-air kept the whole upper floor comfortable. 90 m².Granted it’s a brand new and very well insulated house, but -30 bites well on those too!
Most houses up here have other electric alternatives or a fireplace.
Gas and oil are beyond abnormal to have and I think oil is even illegal in Norway now…

Spot is quite normal in the Nordics. Over all it’s the cheapest, but some days suck obviously.
This summer we had days with negative prices. My bill for July was 78 NOK (about $8). Might have been August when I think about it…

The only subscription I am willing to pay for monthly is the fee for 5G as that is outside of the manufacturers control.
If you won’t let me pay to get the upgraded lights when I buy the car but only offer a subscription for them, I’m not going to buy a car from you, end of story.

I fucking hate this shit with passion and purposely setup my PC without internet connected every damn time I format.
I once connected to WiFi during the setup and got stuck in the same place and I wanted to burn my house down.
