Higher’d’n AC.
- Comment on Do any ATMs in Belgium support balance inquiries? 11 months ago:
I only access banks electronically if they accommodate Tor.
So they know when you logged in and what you did when you got there. So you can’t escape it there.
The bank only gets to know my physical location when I do a transaction where that’s unavoidable.
So you can’t escape this either.
Even if I were to carry a mobile phone on standby wherever I go, the bank would get nothing from it if I don’t run their app.
They would get nothing except the time, location, amount, business, and how that relates to the other purchases you make and all the data those transactions generate as well. That data is shared with the bank, Visa or MasterCard, and all credit reporting agencies. This is unavoidable too.
You are not getting out of this unless you allow it to seriously affect your life.

My man… You are not getting around the tracking. It’s never going to happen. Unless you literally toss everything with a network connection and disconnect from the electric, gas, and water grids, you are going to be tracked.
- Comment on I Can't Drink Now Like I Used to a Few Years Ago (26M), is that Normal? 11 months ago:
Enjoy it. A night out is now cheaper.
- Comment on Does anyone drink instant coffee anymore? 1 year ago:
I don’t drink coffee at all but I do live outside of the US. I have noticed that in MANY places in the world, instant coffee is the norm. It’s not normal to see coffee beans in the grocery store at all really where I am now. I would have to go to a more upscale place or to a specialty spot to find whole or ground coffee.

It is possible to build trains/stations in lightly populated areas and have modern building codes in place to encourage modern, efficient towns be developed around them.
China took it to an extreme in one situation but it’s entirely possible on smaller scales.
- Comment on I have fire arms therefore you are wrong 1 year ago:
No. With Godhead (terrible) and Crossbreed (amazing for the time). Just searched and seems like that was a much smaller tour a few months before the one you went to.
- Comment on I have fire arms therefore you are wrong 1 year ago:
Yeah the place I saw them was really small actually. Thinking back on it, I don’t know how they ever let them do a show there with that much fire. I was in the balcony but could have hit Till with my beer if I wanted.
- Comment on I have fire arms therefore you are wrong 1 year ago:
I think I saw them in like 2002… Crazy they’ve been doing that shit for so long.
- Comment on Is there a more politically conservative part of the fediverse? 1 year ago:
One could argue that decentralized, bottom up organization is essentially the structure of the modern evangelical movement… It’s also kinda the playbook for modern terrorism though… ISIS, Timothy McVeigh, etc…
It would be nice to have moderate conservative voices in the mix but unfortunately that world just seems to be filled with mostly batshit crazy ideas that do more harm than good.

It’s good to be the king.
- Comment on How do I find news without using Social Media? 1 year ago:
I use feedly pretty much every day. The Times for reasonable news. Bloomberg because it’s the closest thing to right-wing news that isn’t batshit crazy. Lots of international sources for other perspectives… BBC, Al Jazeera, Japan Times, etc… Then lots of tech industry news just because that’s my field.
The subscriptions are going to seem high when you first look but this is the reality of the current news landscape… If you want legitimate news it’s going to cost money. If you want legitimate news that isn’t completely dependent on advertising, it’s going to cost more money.
