- Comment on FINAL FANTASY XIV: DAWNTRAIL Launch Trailer 2 weeks ago:
You’d have to get through a couple hundred hours of main story quest to get to current content.
So if you like JRPG stories and/or extensive character dress-up: Great idea do recommend
If you like endgame content and raiding and stuff: It’s not the best and probably not worth the couple hundred hours of MSQ

Don’t even have to kill, an injury that stops them from further adventuring would work as well. Could still have them as a consultant or whatever then

Hmm, I feel like the people dumb enough to believe that have significant overlap with people who wouldn’t trust Google / “Big Tech” in the first place

That website is using the nations carbon footprint as a part of their measure of happiness which I find confusing. Carbon footprint is important sure but it doesn’t relate to happiness and gives undeveloped countries an advantage.

At the end of the day, while living in the US does have its share of issues, they absolutely do not compare to living in Africa.

But Trump was President during your life time too?

I would definitely pay for a fake space cruise, assuming the outside “space” environment was sufficiently detailed, and they had quality actors running the show.
- Comment on Why School Absences Have ‘Exploded’ Almost Everywhere | The pandemic changed families’ lives and the culture of education: “Our relationship with school became optional.” 2 months ago:
Personal opinion is that some level of education is required to fully function in modern society. The basics like math, language, history, etc. Plus school offers a good way for kids to socialize with others their age which is important.
Now on the other hand, the current format of waking kids up at 8AM, loading them with homework, forcing them to take standardized tests… that all is a bit much.

Honestly surprised it’s that popular. It’s good but there isn’t a whole lotta meat on the bone so to speak, what with only having 3 levels to choose from right now.

A lot of puzzle games, especially ones by Zachtronics. Eventually I get to a point where my brain just can’t keep up and at that point I consider it done.

I’ve been trying to find the actual text of the deal to see if it fucks over the actors or not, but I can’t find the actual deal, just articles referencing it

The ability to see inside any empty container could be useful depending on how granular you’re being with “empty”. Could get a good job screening for contraband or any other job where you expect containers to be empty, as quality control.

I could see some people wanting low level jobs in their retirement because they don’t know what to do with their time otherwise.
But it should absolutely not be a requirement.

I don’t mind going in once or twice because when I was pure WFH, the lack of human interaction started to drive me a little crazy. Course, I’m also single which doesn’t help.

But every time abortion is on the ballot, the republicans lose. So clearly betting on hate isn’t working.
Ah well, far be it from me to stop them from shooting themselves in the foot.
- Comment on [deleted] 10 months ago:
Even then, it still doesn’t make sense to push so hard for restricting abortion. The extreme righters will vote Republican regardless, and they run the risk of alienating the center/undecided voters. The vote margins when they win were already super thin as it was…
