- Comment on Feeding my family alone is expensive. I can't afford to feed all of y'all. 1 week ago:
My aunt always hosted but we always brought something to share, usually something that was precooked or didn’t need cooking, like salad or dessert or even just cheese and crackers for an appetizer or something. She still made a ton of food but she didn’t have to do it all on her own, and we all drove a bit to get there; we were the furthest I think at about 2.5 hours away. It was my favorite holiday; just food and family. But I am aware that my family is pretty functional as families go. I am very lucky.

I’m a sucker for blue; 9 might be my favorite. 6 was yet more brown in a house full of brown and yellow. I’m an early 80s baby but my parents held on to the 70s as hard as they could, decor-wise.

No but my mom is originally from Nebraska! Scary close lol

6! No one else?
- Comment on What's your answer? And in the picture which news story is being reported? 5 weeks ago:
Partially because I lived through it, the ‘89 earthquake. I specifically remember not having power and then everything turning back on after midnight and what the news looked like (more grainy than normal) because I was afraid of the dark and hadn’t been able to sleep.

Ouch I had a 4

Even my not-paid-off house is saving me money, since rent has continued increasing and my mortgage has not. I’d probably be paying at least twice in rent for this house as what my mortgage payment is. Bought it 12 years ago.

I don’t actively play the game with anyone but I’m aware of it and kind of keep it in mind. Last year I “lost” soooo early.

If chocolate and coffee taste similar to you, I can see why you wouldn’t like it with fruit!
I like chocolate with my fruit (berries, apple even) but I don’t care for fruit in my chocolate bars, funny enough.
- Comment on God did not intend for us to fold fitted sheets, and if you can it's witchcraft. 1 month ago:
That works if the sheet only has elastic on the corners. The last few sets of sheets I have bought have elastic all the way around the edge of the fitted sheet. Does well on the bed but damn they’re impossible to fold.

I totally read those stats differently, that black people are more likely to be murder suspects (not convicted necessarily but let’s be real) because of systematic racism. White people can’t possibly be murderers, right guys??? But I also am not familiar with the meme background so maybe that’s skewing my reading of it.

I haven’t read much but this is definitely a thing in Jane Austen’s works.

This is interesting. A popular squirrel deterrent for bird feeders is to put spicy stuff on the seed. I’ve been trying that lately and the squirrels have completely left my bird feeder alone. So there must be something rodents don’t like — unless squirrels are just built different?
- Comment on Are you so young that you have never been in a car with one of these? 3 months ago:
Ha my mom had a Cadillac, pretty sure even the same year, and my little brother also found out the hard way about those lighters.

I am not a financial guru so hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong about this, but your credit score is affected positively the more available credit you have. So by voluntarily lowering your available credit, you’re actually hurting yourself way more than the card companies. At least I think that’s how it works, or rather one of many factors.

I bet it’s supposed to be a pseudo border around the whole room but we’re just seeing one wall so it looks super out of place. Can’t say it’s a design choice I would make though.

I’m kinda into pizza this way, sometimes. The frozen pizza I prefer has a thick crust kinda like this AI crust. But I 100% understand why people wouldn’t like it; I figure I’m in the minority. At least there’s enough of us that the grocery store sells a frozen pizza that I like.

One of the subreddits I miss terribly is /r/divorcedbirds. She would fit in nicely. But someone cleverer than me should come up with a good backstory.

The Replacements. Keanu Reeves playing a sub quarterback. It’s stupid fun even if you don’t like football and the supporting cast of football players are great.

- Comment on ‘Superman’ screens to mixed reactions 8 months ago:
I’m not sure how I feel about Gunn’s signature silliness for Superman. I guess if I really think about it, the Superman I have known and loved have been Reeve, Cain, and Cavill. The first was relatively straightforward with moments of humor (just the first one, not the sequels). The second was, if memory serves, leaning into the camp but also more about the soap-opera-style relationship building. The third was pretty serious of course. But I feel like in all of them, Superman was played pretty straight, and maybe the side characters were allowed to lean into the camp or the melodramatics. If Gunn’s is too silly a la GOTG, I can see it falling flat.

Hey I’m from the 80s, don’t lump me in with that crowd! Although honestly I may be an outlier for my age group. I live in a bubble so I don’t know what regular people in their 40s do with their time.
I started watching YouTube during the pandemic I think, and at this point I don’t watch much standard TV at all and have gone back to reading and audiobooks which is way more fulfilling.
