- Comment on dear republicans, what's the point of alienating every single ally of the US? 3 weeks ago:
If they were capable of thinking critically, they wouldn’t be Republicans in the first place.
- Comment on What are the democrats actually doing to help? 4 weeks ago:
They’ve been doing as much as they can, such as stalling votes and filing lawsuits. They have literally no power, so there isn’t much they can do short of committing violence.
HOWEVER, one thing they could be doing is more attention-grabbing stunts. The octogenarians in party leadership don’t understand that attention is the most valuable commodity these days. If they formed a human shield to block people getting into the Senate chambers to further delay Trump’s nominees, they’d get heaps of attention and far fewer people would be asking what they’re doing to stop the fascist takeover. At least their objections would be visibly plastered all over TV and social media rather than confined to the vote tallies in the Senate.
Down the road, when (or if) Trump needs to have actual legislation passed, he’s going to have a major problem in the House. The House Republican caucus can’t agree on what to order for lunch, so they’ll likely need Democratic votes to get any legislation passed. This is the only area where Dems have a modicum of power.
- Comment on We need a new Amazon 3 months ago:
One thing I’ve realized about Amazon, at least lately, is that they don’t always have the lowest prices. For many items, I can go directly to the manufacturer’s site and get the same product for a lower or equal price with free shipping. If I have to wait a couple extra days, so be it. At least I’m not lining Bezos’ pockets.
- Comment on yogurt 5 months ago:
It’s not that bad. A traditional yogurt-making practice is to put a couple ants into some milk. The microorganisms that the ants introduce helps kick off the fermentation of the milk, turning it into yogurt.
- Comment on Survey: 73% of Amazon workers are considering quitting after 5-day in-office mandate 5 months ago:
It’s not an apples to apples comparison. The fact is that many Amazon employees can make 25-50% more, with better work-life balance, better benefits, a less toxic environment, and the ability to work from home.

- Comment on American tourists visiting the EU, what do you think of it? 6 months ago:
Europeans seem to be happier, healthier, and to have a generally better standard of living than Americans. Small towns in Europe have much more personality than US suburbs, which largely consist of strip mall after strip mall. Food in Europe is focused on quality, whereas in the US the focus is on quantity.
- Comment on What is the secret to making LED light bulbs last as long as the package says? 7 months ago:
I’m assuming you have a lot of flush-mount ceiling fixtures (aka boob lights)? My experience with them is that they’re very effective LED bulb killers.
The only two that have lasted are in my range hood for light above my stove. Those experience extreme heat and yet they are fine.
They only experience heat when you’re cooking, and are able to vent that heat to a large volume of air (assuming they’re not enclosed, or only enclosed by a thin sheet of plastic). The rest of the time they’re probably powered off and at ambient temperatures. Compare that to enclosed flush-mount fixtures, in which bulbs stay on for large portions of the day, trapping lots of heat in a small space for long periods of time. That’s a perfect recipe for killing LED bulbs.
If your house was built prior to LED bulbs being so widespread, it might be worthwhile to consider new fixtures that were actually designed with LED bulbs in mind.
Also, don’t buy no-name bulbs off Amazon. Chinese factories crank out shitty bulbs that are designed and built as cheaply as possible, and they will fail quickly.

In Kagi, you can prioritize results from domains you trust and deprioritize or hide results from domains you don’t like.

Your complaint shows a complete lack of respect for the manufacturer’s profit margins. They probably save a couple bucks per vehicle by
skimping on materialsoptimizing paint dispersion. - Comment on The infamous amazon Union busting video 1 year ago:
“We’re not anti-union, but we’re not neutral either.”
Well Amazon, you’re not pro-union, so what exactly are you? ‘Cause that pretty much covers the full spectrum.

You’re way overthinking it, my friend. The meaning of it is “‘Murica, fuck yeah!” They want everyone to know what a tough, Trump-loving big boy they are.
