Sure, but we had Bonzi Buddy too. These days the best we can hope for is some AI that tells us to eat rocks.

Seeing Stardew Valley behind QWOP, I suspect the list is in no particular order. Who could put such an outstanding game truly made with love that low in a list of top games of all time.
- Comment on City-building on a massive creature, The Wandering Village - Research & Economy update is live 6 days ago:
No way has it been in Early Access for 2 years?! I picked this game up when I first released but stopped playing it pretty quickly as it felt shallow compared to what was already out there. Maybe I need to give it a go with this update.
- Comment on Major overhaul of workers' rights to be outlined 5 weeks ago:
My employer has already been putting measures in place to what seems to be potential loopholes. Hybrid working was bundled as part of “flexible working”, they have separated it out into a different terminology. The term Flexible Working is now purely for those who want to change their hours like removing a day once a week and getting paid less, or moving hours from one day into the other 4.
A large number of companies are pushing to get people to RTO and I get the feeling these workers rights won’t counteract that.
- Comment on Balatro nominated for THREE Golden Joystick Awards! 1 month ago:
I had to turn the music off as it got repetitive, but the rest of the audio stays on. The sound effects are so satisfying as everything is counted after playing a hand and you’ve got a bunch of jokers and cards triggering and then flames begin to build up.
- Comment on Star Citizen Developer Cloud Imperium Games Imposes 7-Day Work Week Ahead of Citizencon 1 month ago:
I’m guessing the top management didn’t learn that crunch is perceived negatively and doesn’t always yield quality results. I’m so glad I never backed this game all those years ago.
- Comment on StarCraft 2 production director pitched WarCraft 4 and a Call Of Duty RTS before leaving Blizzard, claims report 1 month ago:
Dawn of War 3 was absolutely ruined by them trying to make it an eSports. I find most RTS doesn’t give that same feel we got when WC3 first came out or later on when Company of Heroes was released. They were solid games that brought something new to the genre.
- Comment on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Dawn of War II get free Anniversary Edition upgrades 1 month ago:
That’s nice. Maybe one day they’ll make a Dawn of War III.
- Comment on Day 45 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots 2 months ago:
The subscription fee imo is warranted given they release new content every 3 months, which includes voice acting, new dungeons, and new raid content. If it was a monthly sub with nothing released between expansions it wouldn’t be acceptable imo. Highly recommend not having a recurring sub
- Comment on Day 45 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots 2 months ago:
I have 3,400 hours in this game. What I enjoy is that I’m not expected to dedicate my life to it. I pay for 30 days at a time and play when new content is released every 3 months.
I know the last expansion Dawntrail is being slated on Steam reviews, but gameplay wise it was great. The music was solid as always, the Arcadion content was fun and the new zones looked great. Given how good the story has been in the past expansions I can understand how hard it must be to write a whole new story arc and make everyone happy. Some people want something entirely new, while others want to keep it all the same.
- Comment on Deadlock on Steam 2 months ago:
Honestly at this moment it’s the style they are going for. It’s difficult to describe, it’s kind of old timey tech noir. The base gameplay feels very similar to SMITE.
- Comment on Deadlock on Steam 2 months ago:
I’ve got access to the game on steam, the game feels very alpha stage at the moment. There’s already a good roster of characters to choose from and the style is interesting.
- Comment on U.K. might follow Europe in fining employers who message staff after-hours 2 months ago:
I’ve no doubt a previous employer of mine would get us to sign a bit of paper saying we’re happy to be contacted outside of our working hours, and being told it’s mandatory to sign it.

She’s saying these things to him to reinforce it into his subconscious. One day he may start believing those lies, and one day they may actually come true. Except the tall thing, he’s fucked.
- Comment on They encouraged us to insulate our home. Now it’s unmortgageable 2 months ago:
When I first moved into my house I needed to improve the insulation as the existing stuff wasn’t sufficient. I reached out to a spray foam company who sent a salesman around. The guy was incredibly pushy and didn’t care about the minor details. When I was saying it was too much he called his manager up on the phone and was talking to her like she was a piece of shit that he’d trodden in. I reached a point and asked him to leave. About 15 minutes after he’d left the manager called me back directly sounding like she’d been crying, asking for feedback on the guy. Even after I said it was a terrible experience she continued to try and sell the service to me! It was probably some terrible double-act to get sales.
It left a bad taste, I got the feeling it was a terrible cowboy operation and they were claiming to be one of the major players in the UK. Seeing this and over time reading people’s experiences really makes me feel like I dodged a bullet by not getting foam spray insulation. It all sounded too good to be true.

I decided to give the gold place breaking video a watch and although these people are skilled, I just don’t quite get the “this is the current peak of human physical fitness/skill” that we see from other sports. Diving, Rowing, BMXing, even synchronised swimming were all really impressive. I wonder if Breaking will make a return?

They are without a doubt using whatever they can as an excuse to be their racist selves. Unfortunately the media and Facebook/WhatsApp echo chambers exacerbate the issue further, working these Neanderthals into a violent frenzy

Trying to get things lined up for the Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV next week. When first announced I wasn’t very excited, but as it gets closer I’m looking forward to it more and more.
Also dispensing libertea in Helldivers 2
- Comment on Are trailers revealing too much again nowadays? 5 months ago:
Yes, although it’s been that way for many many years. I also hate the concept of teaser trailers for trailers, as well as “THE. TRAILER. STARTS. NOW!” as if it’s meant to build some kind of hype.
- Comment on Anon manages the impossible 6 months ago:
Back when I was younger in college there was a guy who was very socially awkward and unfortunately had a stink that could be smelt from the opposite end of a long corridor. He used to hang out with another kid who had learning difficulties. One day one of the least nice people in my class said to smelly guy “Jesus Christ, why don’t you go take a shower, you stink!” and this caused smelly guy to go bright red in the face and storm off.
Cut to after class and a bunch of us go to the communal area of the college and hang out. Smelly guy walks into the area and walks up to his friend all flustered. His friend asks “Are you alright?” And smelly guy says “Someone told me I need a shower because I smell”, friend says very timidly “it might be a good idea.” Smelly guy goes bright red and storms off again.
He comes back after about 10 minutes and walks up to his friend and pulls out two cans of deodorant and shouts “YOU THINK I SMELL?!” And proceeds to spray the deodorant over himself in a rage…but then turns on his friend and sprays him like crazy. Everyone around is in shock and smelly guy throws the cans on the floor and storms out of the building. We can all see him out the window and he walks up to a bin and kick it, it doesn’t move (secured to the ground) and he falls over, gets up and runs off. We didn’t see him for the rest of the week.
The following week he turns up and his hair has been cut, he has new clothes and his aura of stink is gone. People just casually say hi and over the remaining time we were at college people started to talk to him more and were more polite towards him. He’d still hang out with his friend so I suspect that outburst was water under the bridge.
I hope ex-smelly guy is alright in life. That must have been quite the turning point for him.
- Comment on Founder of Baldur's Gate 3 developer blasts publisher greed 7 months ago:
It’s nice to not be on the hype train for every major game release, because ultimately they will have the same shitfuckery shoed in, likely because of publishers. BG3 was a genuinely fun game and I’m glad Larian has done so well. You can really see a difference in games when it’s made from passion rather than the drive to make as much money as possible.
- Comment on Is there some sort of Indie Game Showcase? 8 months ago:
I tend to watch Clemmy Games to see what indie games are coming up. There are a lot of duds, but then you come across a diamond in the rough. Clemmy does a great job for me, releasing videos almost every day and I would recommend giving the channel a go!

- Comment on What game did you last finish? What did you think of it? 11 months ago:
Endless Dungeon with a friend. It was entertaining but we finished a full run after not too much time and we’re both pretty disappointed. The base gameplay was good, but it really felt like a demo, no real drive to play it again

Branston beans are superior, they have a thicker consistency and richer flavour. They don’t have that weird metallic tang too them either. I once was the kind of person who would only go for Heinz, but after trying Branston I am a convert to superior beans
