I grew up in rural Mississippi and used to work with a guy who admitted to having never seen an Asian person outside of TV or film until he went to college. It was his roommate.

Having to switch to Raiden really ruined the game for me. And I even bought the demo disc from eBay before release and played the hell out of it. 100% the original on PSX too. I knew that tanker top to bottom.
Suddenly I’m playing as this girly looking rookie. I learned to enjoy his story arc through the rest of the series, but Hideo Kojima really swung and missed in my opinion.
Never mind that the story got batshit bonkers at the end of the game. Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 are at the top of the heap for me. MGS2 was a let down.

Ugh God. I remember that “Magic Gate” bullshit when the PSP launched. They started a trend with the Walkman and they’re trying to get lightning to strike twice. Never could do it though. Good.

It’s almost as though Valve provides a valuable service and respects their customers. Rare traits in the corporate world. Answering to a board of directors is a hell of a lot easier than answering to shareholders.

FFVII has been my all time favorite video game since the late 90s. The remake is so chock full of unnecessary fluff and gives me zero reason to care about it.
I couldn’t finish Rebirth. It’s too much of a slog and makes me miss the tight pacing and storytelling of the original game.

I’m playing through Pokemon Unbound on my Steam Deck and it’s scratching a decades old itch. I mostly outgrew the games after Gen 1, but that little red Gameboy Pocket got me through many a 9th grade study hall.
