Anyone who bought into this crap kind of deserves it at this point.
I keep my appliances dumb AF because I have half a chance at repairing them should something break.
There are also fewer points of failure.

- Comment on Epic boss Tim Sweeney thinks stores like Steam should stop labelling games as being made with AI: 'It makes no sense,' he says, because 'AI will be involved in nearly all future production 3 weeks ago:
Company leadership anywhere these days make me sick with the way they try to spin AI like it’s the second fucking coming of Christ when their true intentions are far more insidious.

True. Battle Royale killed the arena shooter genre.

Sweeney’s customers are the shareholders. Not the gamers.

Nobody wants to give their computer AIDS for a free game.

My Steam backlog is 600+ games deep so I don’t have to swim in that Epic shit. Sweeney can suck a nut.

Unreal Tournament 2004 was a spectacular arena shooter back in the day before Battle Royale and MOBAs completely took over. Aged like fine wine too.
Yeah, I’m old.

Bingo! Valve is one hell of a monopoly, but they don’t totally fuck their customers. Sweeney has to answer to his shareholders. Those are the real customers; not you and me.

In this particular case, you’re 100% correct.
It still beats having to watch some wannabe influencer flap their gums about nothing for twenty minutes just so their video is long enough to monitize to suit themselves.

This may be no help at all, but instead of having to waste my time watching unnecessarily drawn out videos, I’ve been feeding the links into perplexity and asking it to summarize the video for me. Saves a shitload of time.

Pokemon Red got me through a year of boring ass 9th grade early morning study hall on my Gameboy Pocket.
With that being said, it’s hilarious to me that someone else took the “pocket monster” formula and built it into something bigger and better than Game Freak or Nintendo could ever develop.
Nintendo is clearly upset about Palworld, but fuck 'em. They had over two and a half decades to improve the formula and now the best thing they can do is half-assed, low effort cash grabs; Gameplay with the depth of a teaspoon and the visuals of a smeared turd.
Try harder, Nintendo.

Thanks for those book recommendations.
I will add that I remember Silent Hill 2 being particularly creepy a couple of decades ago. No cheap jump scares, but a steady uneasiness that was very well executed. I didn’t like playing it unless my college roommate was around. Still planning to check out the remake one day.
