I highly recommend watching this Australian TV show, Mr Inbetween, m.imdb.com/title/tt7472896/
Its based in fiction, but the guy who wrote it and starred in it attempted to tell the story somewhat close to what being a career criminal and hitman would involve. Its really well done and does demonstrate that being a divorced father and career criminal can be a difficult balance.

I love seeing these posts each day as I browse all. I got a steam deck not long ago and I love that you seem to play something different almost every day, you’ve given me some great suggestions 🙂

So you’re a good person but people doing OF aren’t?? Just start an OF and get over yourself.

This is all about building your personal life around work, this guy knows that current WFH initiatives are giving people better flexibility for work to fit around their personal lives.
The things he’s offering to basically hold his employees captive for the day, are quite decent. I just don’t see them being attractive to people long term.

We draw a distinction between two sorts of bullshit, which we call ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ bullshit
- Comment on Why does it feel like too much effort just to go from sitting around looking at garbage online to simply watching a film or playing a video game? 5 months ago:
It could be a number of things that people have mentioned in here.
Just allow yourself to do what you actually want to do. If you feel like you actually want to watch movies or TV shows then you need to consciously stop picking up your phone.
At the same time, if you only want to watch a movie or TV show because its what you “think” is expected of a “normal” person, stop. Just let yourself lay on the couch/bed and scroll.
We place too many expectations on ourselves these days to be doing certain things, instead of just doing the things we actually want.
- Comment on Publishers are a cancer. Knowledge is meant to be shared, freely. 5 months ago:
Given the times I’ve seen news articles and screenshots of poorly vetted published journals. Surely a free open source publisher managed by the academic community can’t be much worse? I also don’t know shit about the requirements to actually publish so this is probably a naive take
