I honestly hope you are right. We are well overdue for change in the UK.
I just feel pretty hopeless about the whole situation as I honestly don’t feel like there has been a time in the UK where the working class were not being manipulated by politicians in conjunction with the tabloids to make out that the enemy of the working class is anyone but the rich.
- Comment on Gary Stevenson: 'Tax wealth or we'll return to the feudal age' 4 days ago:
It is overgeneralised, but I look at how many people are feeding into the lies told by Nigel Farage and similar people, a lot of people hang on their every word and take it as gospel.
There are articles every week regarding racist attacks and outbursts, most recent discussion I could find: theguardian.com/…/belfast-southampton-riots-racis…
There will never be class consciousness as long as even a decent minority of people listen to the hate being spewed in this country.

He’s right but people in the UK are too racist to gain a collective class consciousness.

Create a file named “test” then confirm you can push it to public, rename the test string in your script to .env and then realise you didn’t account for special characters in strings! SHIT!

How sad, what was once the pride of the nation is now just a husk, raped and discarded by the capitalists.

Until the people of the US do something about your tyrannical government, I think the rest of the world is going to make snide comments and tar you all with the same brush. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter who youve voted for, the US consistently will start wars.
It sucks but at least you guys arent the ones being bombed.

“Sorry father, you’re an adult, take care of yourself.”
Thats very alarming language from someone who is meant to be taking care of you as their child.
- Comment on Hulu quizzing about the ads played 1 year ago:
Its honestly getting to the point now where doing these home setups are so much simpler than owning these proprietary streaming boxes which have everything locked up to serve you ads or just steal data in general.
Hooking a PC up to the TV even to watch the paid services is probably better at this point.

I highly recommend watching this Australian TV show, Mr Inbetween, m.imdb.com/title/tt7472896/
Its based in fiction, but the guy who wrote it and starred in it attempted to tell the story somewhat close to what being a career criminal and hitman would involve. Its really well done and does demonstrate that being a divorced father and career criminal can be a difficult balance.

- Comment on ‘Hold them captive’: Australian billionaire boss aims to end staff going out for coffee 1 year ago:
This is all about building your personal life around work, this guy knows that current WFH initiatives are giving people better flexibility for work to fit around their personal lives.
The things he’s offering to basically hold his employees captive for the day, are quite decent. I just don’t see them being attractive to people long term.
